The seventh - (49th) season opener was off to a good start with the return of the Doctor's greatest enemies. Of course I too was supurised to see Jenna-Louise Coleman as Oswin Oswald when it was stated that she would be playing Clara in the Christmas special. But the BBC also said that the episode would feature the clasic Daleks.
In a way, the episode was a bit of a dissapointment for me. I believe they could have the "Special weapons Dalek' with a bit of more screen time and at least have them move around doing something, not have the classic ones in the background, and the "Spinning ballerina" that Amy saw - was a "Black -domed" Emperor's guard Dalek do more than what they did. But I guess when they anounced that, it was to try to have as much viewers they could get.
Also, when they designed the new Daleks, I was hoping to have them featured since the BBC wanted them bigger and better - but I guess since there was talk of viewers not liking the new Daleks, they went back to usung the ones that were made since the Ecclecton era. They had the new boys stand in the back of the Parliment as "Spear-holders" or guards. Am I the only one who likes them?
Anyway, the show was good to get the series going, but in future episodes I just hope they would use the new ones.
