Played By :: Christopher Eccleston Companions :: Rose Tyler & Jack Harkness Due to the events of the Time War, this incarantion easily became brooding and melancholic despite retaining a sense of joy during adventures. Like his Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh lives, this Doctor mostly had a single companion during his life, namely Rose Tyler. Unlike most of his other lives, the adventures he shared with his companions mostly happened on or around Earth. During the Slitheen's attempt to destroy the Earth for profit, he gained temporary allies in Rose's mother Jackie and ex-boyfriend Mickey along with Harriet Jones. He also had a single adventure with Adam, an employee of Henry Van Statten, at Rose's request. However, the Doctor left him behind when he tried to take advantage of future knowledge. During a trip to WW2, the Doctor gained a new companion in Captain Jack Harkness, a conman from the 51st century, whom, he left behind after the Battle of the Game Station. After absorbing the Time vortex energy from Rose to save her from its deadly after effects, the Doctor suffered damage at a celluar level, forcing him to regenerate into his next incarnation. I need to re-watch Nine's episodes. He was my "first Doctor" and I really like Christopher Eccleston, but the episodes didn't stick with me as much as Ten's did for some reason.

I know how you feel, I'm in the same boat. I think 10 stuck with us more at this point because he had a longer run. I still love 9 though although he was awful broody at times.

I wish he had another season. He was my first Doctor as well. He's the Doctor that got me interested in the classic series, and hooked on the new one.
